Dear Association Member,
At their meeting on September 1, 2020, the Association Board reviewed the COVID-19 Emergency Rules, adopted in response to the imminent threat to the Association Members and employees’ health and safety, some of which were approaching their 120-day post-adoption expiration date. When the Association sent you its July 17th letter notifying you that some or all
of the Emergency Rules might need to be made permanent in September, Orange County’s virus metrics remained troublesome. Thankfully, the county’s overall virus metrics are trending positively with the County now meeting all of the standards to move into what Governor Newsom refers to as the ‘red tier.’ Due to these positive changes, the Board voted to adopt permanent COVID-19 rules concerning the pool and private events only. Additionally, while wristbands must be worn at all times when frequenting the beach through the upcoming Labor Day weekend, starting Tuesday, September 8th wristbands will not be required. Other than these specific rules, all other COVID-19 Emergency Rules adopted are now rescinded and the Association will revert back to, and enforce, the relevant pre-COVID rules.
The “2020 COVID-19 Rule Changes” determined by the Board that will be enforced going forward, until they expire or are reversed through another hearing process, can be found HERE. The newly adopted rules can also be found on the EBCA website for download at www.ebca.net.
The Association would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and cooperation during these challenging times. As a reminder, please stay vigilant about protecting your health, and your families’ health, by wearing face coverings, practicing social distancing, washing your hands frequently, avoiding being around sick people and staying home if you are
sick or awaiting COVID-19 test results.
If you have any questions regarding the enclosed new rules, please contact the Association’s Community Manager, Toni Hughes, either by phone at (949) 494-8571 or by email at thughes@ebca.net for assistance.
Sincerely,
Emerald Bay Community Association
