Tennis Courts

Emerald Bay Tennis

Tennis is a major social activity in Emerald Bay and is supported by six well-maintained hard courts. Three of the courts adjoin the Community Center and tennis pro shop, two are located in secluded Emerald Canyon, and one overlooks the beach. Two tennis professionals organize active tennis programs and events, including junior camps, mixers, league play, and the annual Tennis Calcutta. Group and individual instruction is available for men, women, and juniors. Ball machines are also available. Community wide tournaments and ladies’ league matches at all levels of play attract enthusiastic players and spectators. Tennis rules are posted at the facility and can also be found as an addendum in the rules and regulations section of the Member Handbook.

Tennis Rules

General Guidelines

  1. Even though it is essential to have tennis rules in a private community, it should always be a priority to have an open mind and flexibility with each other when it comes to these rules. The courtesy to those involved is of fundamental importance.
  2. The tennis courts are provided by EBCA for use by members, registered tenants, and full time resident children of members and tenants.
  3. Housekeepers, house-sitters, caretakers, boarders, service workers, construction workers, and other service personnel are not permitted to use EBCA tennis courts.
  4. Guests of members and registered tenants may only use the tennis courts when accompanied by their host.
  5. Tennis courts are for tennis play only. No pets, skateboards, roller blades, marking tennis shoes, scooters, motorcycles, bicycles, or general play activity are allowed.
  6. Tennis court use is administered either under Reservation Period rules (7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon daily) or Open Play rules (all other times)
